Why do we have desires, emotions and attachments?
more...At the outset, I ask you a simple question: Do you love yourself? If your answer is yes, then why do you live in stress? Why do you create turmoil and frustration for yourself? Most of the people will say, Oh no…I don’t create stress, but I get stressed because people hurt and torture me. The truth is that until and unless you are not ready to absorb the negativity of other people you cannot be frustrated or unhappy. You become stressed only when you open doors of your mind and take in negativities of others. This is how you end up being upset – if you don’t take in the negativities

It stimulates better powers of visualization and concentration and gives a feeling of lightness and clarity to the mind.
Jal Neti is excellent for those trying to give up smoking. It reduces mouth breathing and re-sensitizes the nose to the indecency and discomfort of ingesting smoke, therefore deprogramming the brain of the physical and psychological addiction.
On a higher plane, Jal Neti is very effective for meditation as it works on the subtle effects of the olfactory bulb, and the psychic center, which is known as the Agya Chakra in yoga.
To meditate in the right way a positive attitude is required; equally important is the physical posture. It is nearly impossible in a normal situation, to sleep in shirshasana, the head-stand posture. But it is pretty easy to doze off while lying down or even while sitting. Thus, when the body is in a comfortable position, sleep comes naturally. But in the standing position it is quite difficult to fall asleep. For meditation the right posture is a definite pre-requisite. If the spine is not erect but curved, the gravitational pull of the earth has a greater effect on the body – you feel like relaxing and there is an inclination to lie down.

more...Nature has made the two genders of male and female different from one another. Their physical differences are evident, but they are different mentally too; they think differently. But one thing is common to them for sure, and that is that they cannot stay away from one another. Nothing can separate them, not even their multiple differences. A boy and a girl are apart only at the toddler stage, but once the hormone glands become active, nothing can stop them from coming together. Men can’t live without women or women without men. The truth is that nature has created these differences for a purpose. As the saying goes: Opposites will always attract.

These glands start functioning around teenage and they release chemicals called hormones. In the brain, the hypothalamus and the pituitary control the functioning of these glands. The male hormone testosterone is produced by the testes and the female hormones progesterone and estrogen are produced by the ovaries.

more...Going to temples doesn’t make you spiritual. It is just a religious affair. Prayer has nothing to do with the priests and sadhus; it has everything to do with your feelings and emotions. So if you have it then how does it matter even if all sadhus and priests are corrupt! There is no need to go to temples. Temples were schools where people would go to learn the art of praying and the art of life.

Now the circumstances have become very alarming. I seek your advice. Is meditation, which I am unable to do, the only solution? I surrender to you and seek your blessings.

You are born accidentally to a particular pair of parents? You are not on this earth because your parents wanted ‘you’. When man and woman meet on the physical level and do not use any contraception, the woman is likely to get pregnant. And at that particular time, when she is conceiving, whichever individual soul is around, it just rushes. And there is not only one, but hundreds of souls, which are waiting to be born; so they just rush. And the one that wins the race enters the mother’s womb. Most of these souls are devilish. The reason being, no good soul would rush like this. Unless and until they are asked to come, they won’t.
more...What is life?
Life is so short but yet life is so beautiful. Life is a moment and moments are flickering. Life is a moment and moments are transient, changeable. Life is a beauty but it withers away. Life is a smile but it fades out. Life is a blossom but it dries out.
Again I repeat the question, what is life? Life is a cascade but yet it dwindles out. Life is a stream flowing endlessly but yet it dries away one day.
So these flickering moments, changing times, moving moments, an existence has to be explored which doesn’t change, does not wither, does not dry up, there is not a moment where there is ‘the end’ to that existence.
There is a beautiful saying of a woman mystic of Rajasthan; a small, at one time princely state of India, the queen mystic – Meera. Meera says: who will enjoy the essence of life? And she answers herself, “One who has drunk the cup of divinity will enjoy the life”. One whose cup is not full of divinity will never, never enjoy life.
Mind is a tool and if one knows how to use it then it can be of help to you in many ways. On the contrary, if one does not know how to use this tool then your own mind becomes devil and can make you suffer. Learn and understand the intricacies of mind, its way of working; learn the art of meditation and you will live in great peace and comfort as any one who meditates grows in more than one way.
more...This is an interesting question because more than half of the humanity is a believer in God, and every religion has its own definition which is quite different from the definition given by the other religion. This earth is having more than 350 religions, so we can say there are more than 350 kinds of God. And in this whole jamboree of so many plural Gods, one is seemingly so different from the one. It really confuses the mind. Then sometimes one tends to say that there isn’t any God and it’s just the fabrication of the human mind. Some sociologists come out with their own definitions that God is an idea which has been concocted by the priests and by the politicians for selfish interests. For some ulterior motive, God has been created, because God is never going to come up and say ‘I am God’.
