thermotherapy
(the alternate application of hot and cold temperatures), energy work and healing to soothe your senses.
Aroma is a fragrance, a sweet smell with a subtle pervasive quality, and therapy means treatment designed to cure.
The essential oils used in aroma therapy have the ability to store energy and release it when required. They help us feel good by working on our skin or hair, stabilize our emotions, reduce stress, and take away depression.
In olden days, women used aromatherapy extensively, like rose which was used by Cleopatra.
Rose represents the Heart Chakra – an individual’s ability to connect to universal love energy and to feel compassionate. Feeling love in a pure, universal way greatly enhances the ability to connect to the spirit. By feeling love, a person transcends all negativity and becomes one with all things and beings. Love is the energy that makes life worthwhile. Without love, what would life be?
Actually, perspiration is the body’s natural way of cooling itself. The skin contains sweat glands, which are of two kinds – the appocrine and the eccrine. The eccrine glands are found all over the body, more particularly on the palms and soles of the feet. They excrete mainly water and a little salt. The appocrine glands, found in the underarm and other regions, release sweat, which mixes with surface bacteria and decomposes fast, creating problems of odor and stained clothing. In its effort to regulate body temperature, the skin releases more perspiration as the weather gets warmer. Body odor actually forms about six hours after we sweat. The waste matter that is secreted with sweat has to be removed by washing and bathing, in order to avoid stale odor and feel fresh. The use of deodorants, anti-perspirants, talcum powder and perfumes helps to deal with the problem for a short while.
more...Menstruation is a natural monthly cycle in women. The discharge consists of blood and cells which sheds from the lining of the uterus. The bleeding can last from two to seven days and signifies that no conception has taken place. The main hormones involved in controlling menstruation are estrogen and progesterone. The cycle begins when a dormant egg cell within an ovary begins to ripen. The cells around this maturing egg cell then release estrogen which prompts the lining of the endometrium to thicken as preparation for the receipt of fertilized egg. When the egg matures, ovulation begins. In ovulation, the matured egg will burst from the ovary and go down to the fallopian tube to the uterus. The cells that are left behind after ovulation will then begin the production of progesterone. This hormone, the progesterone, is responsible for the further growth of the endometrium.

more...Moisture is the skin’s basic requirement. It keeps the skin soft, healthy and youthful. As knowledge about the skin and its cosmetic needs have grown, it has been found that aged and prematurely aged skins have one thing in common: lack of moisture. The amount of moisture that the skin holds determines its texture to a great extent – whether it is soft and smooth, or dry, rough or covered with fine lines. The skin loses moisture to the environment when humidity is low, or through artificial means like airconditioning and central heating. Exposure to the sun, over a period of time, also lowers the skin’s ability to retain moisture. Even the water that you wash the face with is treated with chemicals like chlorine which deplete moisture and cause dryness. If the skin is perpetually short of moisture, it can get dehydrated and shrivel up. This makes the skin texture rough and sensitive, vulnerable to the formation of lines and wrinkles.

Winter normally ushers one into physical discomforts like cold, fever, sometimes even depression also; your body increases its fat reserves as a protection against the cold.
In winter, beginner or an intermediate practitioner should practice dynamic yoga, meaning instead of holding a pose for few seconds, one should practice each Shuksham vayama and Asana 2 to 5 times continuously.
Lets practice:
CHEST BREATHING
SPINE EXERCISE
SHIATSU THERAPY
SURYA MUDRA
LINGAM MUDRA
SURYA BHEDI PRAYAMAMA
and follow some Tips To Stay Healthy
During winter, when the weather is cold and dry, the hair really suffers. This is the time of year when we like to sit outside and enjoy the warm sunshine. We use hot water for bathing and washing the hair. These things can actually dry out the hair. For one thing, the hair and scalp lose moisture to the atmosphere, due to lack of humidity. Both sun-exposure and hot water also cause dryness. The hair becomes dry and difficult to manage. It can also develop problems like split ends.
A conditioner helps to give the hair protection and body. A good conditioner works by coating the hair. This adds thickness, strength and body to the hair. Conditioners can contain protein and oils. Some ingredients, like henna, are conditioners too, as they have the ability to coat the hair.

When you drop down on the bed dog-tired, nature energizes your body through sleep. Your pranamaya kosha is nourished and your capacity to breathe improves considerably. It’s this pranashakti that takes away all your fatigue and in the morning when you get up, you feel as fresh as a daisy.
Even missing a few hours of sleep can have an effect. It accumulates over time and it is estimated that a sleep debt of ten hours or more will affect performance. But there’s no need to overdo it. Doctors discovered that sleeping for nine or more hours a night is not necessarily beneficial. Just like having that second slice of cake, or finishing the packet of biscuits, oversleeping is another manifestation of our inherent greed! Stick to the recommended 7 – 8 hours.
Life can sometimes be serious and tiring but a good and hearty laugh is not only welcome by the people around you but also by your mind, body and soul.
Scientific evidence on the effectiveness of humor as a therapy is overwhelming. The sound of roaring laughter is far more contagious than any cough, sniffle, or sneeze. A healthy sense of humor is related to being able to laugh at oneself.
We usually keep popping in pills to get rid of our usual ailments but never think that a thing as simple as laughter can significantly contribute to cure various diseases with our own healing system.
An enthusiastic laugh can help to reduce stress, maintain the right blood pressure, elevate mood, boost immune system, improve brain functioning, protects the heart, fosters instant relaxation, and the list is inexhaustible.
For some people laughter is a serious business because they literally believe in the adage ”laughter is the best medicine.”
