Grow Evolve & Rule

saniya mirza, kiran bedi, mother teressa

The definition of a powerful woman is not one who heads a corporate business house. A powerful woman is one who knows herself and is confident, smart and a giver.

A woman has to deal with a number of issues. Women of the twenty century are smart, hip, educated and intelligent. Our grannies and mommies played the simple yet difficult role of homemakers. Taking care of the children, husband, elders and younger members of the family gave them a back breaking regimen.
Yet she found sufficient time to sit and gossip and to work on her clothes and jewellery. The women who had rich husbands would spend their time in clubs and kitty parties.
Well most rich women still do that! But in metropolitan cities where the woman has to play the double role of a homemaker and an earner, her schedule is very busy. Along with domestic squabbles and troubles, she now has to deal with a difficult boss and nosy and competitive colleagues in addition to facing a whole gamut of office politics.
A woman is physically very strong; even so her pre-menstrual pains and menopausal syndromes like mood swings and hot flashes make things tough for her.
If a woman is mentally strong she can withstand a whole load of pressure. But if she does not have stability of mind and sharp intelligence, then there is a possibility of a break down. No wonder more women than men suffer migraines. The circulatory system is also affected and she gets fluctuating blood pressure.
A husband who understands this and helps with the domestic chores, gives a patient hearing to her woes is a rare species. Our society has groomed men to be authoritative, dictatorial and demanding. This deprives women of a healthy and supportive companionship. Sometimes her girlfriends fill up this space. Hence women need to talk for hours to their friends over endless cups of coffee or tea and escalating telephone bills.
All the issues stated above are sufficient to bring any mind to the brink of collapse. To cope with her pressures, what are a woman’s options - tea, cinema, friends, gossip, shopping! But do you think that these do not bring additional worries.
I believe a woman has to be strong: physically, mentally and emotionally. And this can happen only if she brings spirituality into her life.
Spiritual life is not meant for those alone who have left every thing and have settled in the comfort of ashrams or mountains.

Spirituality is for those who are living within the family, who are working and have to face the challenges and pressures of life.

Sanity, integrity and intuitive knowledge are perfect tools for those who are struggling and working in society. What decisions does a monk have to make: whether he should sit for five hours or eight? Whether he should chant or contemplate?
For a monk there aren’t any challenges. I call them escapists! Fearing an accident, if someone stops driving a car, can he be called wise? I call them chickens!
Living in society and being a creative and productive member of the family and of society, every woman has a very important role to play. She can be a perfectionist in her role only if she has great spiritual power.

shakti

I believe every woman is shakti. But this shakti - the power - is asleep, hidden within her. It has to be awakened. The process of awakening the spiritual powers can be activated by a woman by employing the methods of dharna, dhyana and mantra.
Tantra says women have a naturally activated agya-chakra which is the pineal gland. With a little effort women can develop this power and have their inner guru guide them through the roller-coaster that is their life.
Tantra says that every woman inherits a sixth-sense from Mother Nature - if only she learnt to be aware and used this awareness to develop her inner qualities. She can be Durga - a creator and sustainer, Kali - a destroyer capable of kill her own negativities, and Laxmi - who has beauty, integrity, wisdom and intelligence. A woman can become a living goddess!
Shakti is the creative force and the whole world is evolving through this cosmic force. Women are good receivers; if only they attain a degree of discipline and contemplation they can easily master the power of Shakti.
An energetic, powerful, creative woman who is the head of the family with her husband acting as her support - as Shiva is to Shakti; her children becoming her strength; such a woman can create paradise. Right here! Right now!
With or without man woman is strong. It is only shallow thinking and wrongful conditioning of society which makes her weak in body and mind. Women should learn Raj-yoga to perfect the body, so that all body systems function properly. In her mind she should chant -I am strong, I am Shakti. With a strong body and mind, every thing will become easy and possible for her.
A woman is meant to be adored, loved and respected, but conditions apply - she should be what she is meant to be - Shakti.
The definition of a powerful woman is not one who heads a corporate business house. A powerful woman is one who knows herself and is confident, smart and a giver. Why be a taker when you can be a giver?
So be a giver. But to be a giver you have to attain richness, values, wisdom and intelligence.

Grow, evolve spiritually and rule the world!
